IntelliBid User Tip: Using IntelliBid’s JobVue Feature

If you have the Plus, Pro, or Design Build version of IntelliBid, you may have noticed a small “Camera” button on both the Jobs and the Takeoff toolbar. When you click on it, an empty window pops up. This button activates the JobVue feature which lets you view digital photos of your job site.

Let’s say you’re doing a walk-through of an area that is going to be remodeled. You probably bring a pad of paper and make quick sketches of areas you’ll want to look at later while you’re estimating the job. When you’re ready to begin the estimate, you grab your sketch pad and try to decipher what you drew.

Next time, leave the pad back at the office and bring a digital camera or mobile phone with you to the walk through. Take as many pictures of the job conditions as you like.

  1. Plug your camera or mobile phone’s transfer cable into the computer. Click the JobVue icon and click Upload.  Locate your device (camera or mobile phone) and highlight the photos you want to download and click Save.

  2. Use the buttons at the top of the dialog to add images to the job:
    • [Upload] opens a Browse window to locate the files you want to include. Image files are displayed in the viewer on the left and other types are listed by filename in the viewer
    • [Browse Image Folder] opens the Image Repository folder and allows you to navigate your system to retrieve other images.
    • [Delete Image] removes the images selected after a confirming response.
    • [Refresh] reads the images from the Repository file and redisplays the images
  3. Select or unselect an image by clicking it. Double-click expands the image full size. Click the image again to return to the thumbnail viewer.

You can keep this dialog open while you work on takeoff or any other screens in IntelliBid. When you are done with the viewer, close it by clicking the Windows Close button in the upper right-hand corner.
