When using the Journal Messaging center in both IntelliBid and JobTrac the primary function is to docket the correspondence in the chronological order in which it is sent and received. This tip shows you how to create a thread of correspondence of related subject matter.
In figure 1, using the Import Email button in the bottom right corner, you can import email that you receive from someone in the project team. You simply select the Import Email button to retrieve the email from your email account. The email is then appended in the history of correspondence also as shown in figure 1.
However, for instance, if you sent out an RFI email from IntelliBid or JobTrac as an action item to someone in the project team you will be expecting a response to that email. As shown in figure 2, once you receive the response by email you can right click with your mouse on the original email sent from the Journal Message center and select the Import Outlook Response.
As shown in figure 3, once you retrieve the email from your email account the email will be linked to the original response. Use this to include additional correspondence to the same action item for effective organization of your project documentation.
