IntelliBid v7 has a new feature that you may see as you go about your task of estimating a job. As new sections are opened within IntelliBid, you may notice some Tabs opening at the top of the screen. These Tabs are similar to the Tabs in your favorite Internet Browser. When you open a new web site a new Tab opens with that web site allowing you to go back and forth between the two or more web sites that are opened.

The same holds true with IntelliBid’s Tab feature. Each Tab contains a screen section that you opened in IntelliBid. This means you can have multiple views of Takeoff for the same job or for different jobs. The Bid can be open in one Tab, and Takeoff in another; Maintenance screens can be open along side with Takeoff screens. You can have two or more jobs open at the same time allowing you to copy material from one job to another making estimating a job that much quicker.

Bold lettering is an indicator that the Tab is currently open on the screen. To close a Tab, click the ‘ X ‘ on the right side of the Tab. Keep in mind, not all Tabs may be visible on your screen. Use the small black arrow at the far right side to display all the open windows. From the pop-up menu, select the section you want to work with from the list and that Tab will be brought to the visible area of the screen.

As you can see in the image below, the Tabs can also be rearranged in the order that makes it easier to work. Simply left click on the Tab and hold down the mouse button while dragging the Tab to a desired location. The Tab will automatically drop into that position.

On the other hand, if you are more comfortable with a cascading view, you can Uncheck the Tabbed View check box at the top right corner of the screen. The open Tab windows will now display in the cascade view. Click on the title bar of the section you want to work with.
